South Run Baptist - Church
Boy Scout Troop #105
In the fall of 2006, South Run began its first Boy Scout Troop. Troop 105 is off to an outstanding start and is eagerly open to boys eleven years and older. Troop 105 meets on Thursday nights at 6:30.
What about my kids?
South Run has an exciting children’s ministry. Children are welcome and valued. Sunday School is for all ages from birth through adults. During worship, childcare is provided from birth through 3 years of age. Children age four through second grade attend Children’s Church during the latter half of the morning worship service. On Wednesday nights children have mission groups called RA’s for boys, GA’s for girls, and Mission Friends for younger children. Childcare is provided for babies and toddlers. A variety of children’s activities and programs, such as Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp and Trunk or Treat are offered throughout the year.
Does South Run have an active youth ministry?
Absolutely, the youth ministry is very active and is continually growing. Youth ministry reaches out to several area high schools and middle schools. Youth meet weekly on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm for D.O.G. Pound and on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 pm for Bible Study. On Monday afternoons youth go to an elementary school in Anacostia to conduct Homework Club. Special youth events are held several times per month. Youth go to Centrifuge and on a Mission Trip in the summer.
