South Run Baptist Church seeks a full-time Associate Pastor focused on Discipleship and Worship with special emphasis on children, youth, and college students. This position will develop opportunities for and minister to primarily children, youth, college students, and their families to enable them to worship and grow in their faith.

Discipleship – The Associate Pastor will develop appropriate opportunities for children, youth, college students and their families to grow in their faith and to build relationships with fellow believers. This includes, for example, the launching and overseeing of small groups, Bible studies, and short-term classes designed to deepen faith in Christ and to strengthen the community of faith.

Worship – The Associate Pastor will oversee teams of church members who will assist in worship services. This includes recruiting, equipping, training, and delegation to volunteers, while planning for and expanding the church’s worship services into other times and locations.

The Associate Pastor will support the Senior Pastor in the purposes, values and vision of South Run Baptist Church.

Qualifications:

• Seminary Degree preferred
• Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a church leadership position, preferably with children, youth or college students
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment
• Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, and time management and organizational skills

Ministry Responsibilities Would Include:

• Provide vision and direction for existing worship teams and start new worship teams. This includes overseeing the planning and orchestration of worship services and planting new worship experiences at different times and locations to get worship out into the community.
• Organize and oversee the Sunday school and other Bible study groups. Equip, nurture, and guide Sunday school teachers and group leaders for outreach and ministry.
• Launch and oversee a network of small groups to draw church members to deeper devotion to Christ and to one another, and to draw the un-churched into fellowship.
• Develop a spiritual formation strategy that builds faith in children, youth and adults.
• Maintain good communication within the church body regarding ministry opportunities and needs.
• Perform pastoral ministry as needed, such as visitation, counseling, care and encouragement.
