Covenant
- The intern will have a vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- The intern will consistently practice personal spiritual disciplines such as prayer, worship and Bible study.
- The intern will possess requisite skills and gifts for the internship.
- The intern’s lifestyle will model Christian ethics and character.
- The intern’s doctrinal understandings will be consistent with those of South Run.
- The intern will support South Run’s vision, mission and primary objective.
- The intern will serve in a full-time, temporary capacity for ten weeks.
- The intern will plan with the senior pastor and appropriate teams.
- The senior pastor will supervise and mentor the intern.
- The church will provide salary of $350 per week, housing (in the home of a church family), mileage (when applicable), and some meals.
- The duties outlined below are relative to personal gifts, skills and talents. Opportunities for ministry can be customized accordingly.
Worship
- Enrich worship experiences for youth and children.
- Incorporate worship into events and activities.
- Develop the personal discipline of worship in the lives of youth and children.
- Assist with worship, children’s church and children’s sermons.
Evangelism
- Plan and lead evangelistic opportunities for youth and children.
- Lead youth and children to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Plan and lead mission trips and mission projects for youth and children.
- Develop the personal discipline of evangelism in the lives of youth and children.
Discipleship
- Plan and lead discipleship development experiences for youth and children.
- Personally disciple youth and children and lead others to do so.
- Teach the Bible; lead youth and children to apply it to their lives.
- Develop the personal discipline of discipleship in the lives of youth and children.
Fellowship
- Produce life-changing relationships with God and others.
- Plan and lead fellowship building events for youth and children.
- Lead youth and children to meaningfully connect with members and newcomers.
- Develop the personal discipline of fellowship in the lives of youth and children.
Ministry
- Plan and lead ministry opportunities for youth and children.
- Cultivate leadership skills in youth and children.
- Lead youth and children to recognize God’s call in their lives.
- Develop the personal discipline of ministry in the lives of youth and children.
