Senior Pastor
Wayne Jenkins is Senior Pastor. He has spent much of his ministry in Northern Virginia at McLean Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Alexandria and, since May of 2003, at South Run. Pastor Wayne's passions are life-changing relationships, young families in the DC area and just about any kind of adventure. He is married to Carolyn, the Minister of Education at Downtown Baptist Church in Old Town Alexandria. For fun he hangs out with Carolyn, bikes, swims and hikes. Both Carolyn and Wayne are natives of Georgia. Married for 37 years, they have two adult children and one baby grandson.

Secretary
Susan Smith is the world's best, part-time Church Secretary, a title which does not do her justice. She helps the pastors and the church members in every way needed. She is married to Russell and they have three children: Shawn (17), Sarah (16) and Brett (11). Susan's passions are Starbucks and friends.

Who can be a deacon at South Run?
Deacons are servants, ministers. Deacons are elected by the church. Any adult church member who meets spiritual and scriptural qualifications and is elected to serve as a deacon may do so.

Does South Run have an intern program?
Yes. Every summer South Run employs college and/or seminary students to learn ministry by doing ministry under the guidance of Pastor Wayne and a Summer Ministry Resource Team.
